Young Composers Contest
Open to Canadian composers 28yrs. and under.

The Young Composers Contest will take place for the 2022/2023 season! 

 

Deadline for submissions – Feb. 1st 2023. 

  • write a Concert March, 5 min. (Maximum) in length 

  • to be written for standard British Brass Band instrumentation (3-4 percussion max)

  • submit electronic files (score/parts) and mp3 – preferably in Finale or Sibelius

  • 3 finalists will be chosen by adjudicator J. Scott Irvine– these works will be performed by the Hannaford Youth Band

  • winner will receive $500 and their work will be published in the Youth Series by Hannaford Brass Music Publishing

  • 2nd prize $300, 3rd prize $200.
